If sewage is coming back into the house, call. For pump-outs, inspections or planning a new system, send a request and a local company will get back to you.
Before you call
It helps to have:
- The property address, so your request reaches a company that works there
- What you need: a pump-out, an inspection, a repair, a drainfield or a new system
- When the tank was last pumped, if you know
- Whether the system has a pump chamber or alarm
- For a purchase, your inspection deadline; for a new build, where you are in the county permit process
Backup in the house? Stop running water, the washer and the dishwasher until someone looks at the system, and keep kids and pets away from any wet, smelly ground over the drainfield.
